I found this box of 78s?
I dont know if the web brings people here.
Dont care much, either way.
But the last few days have been interesting.
Someone here near Kenora Ontario was giving away a big box of 78s. Free. Placed outside. First come first served... I had just bought a "grandma phone" (sp) at a garage sale for $30, just a few weeks earlier, for a display peice... so obv i grabbed these 100+ shellac slabs real quick.
Been sorting through them.... Its almost all 1914-1919 trench music. This passed man sure loved his fox trots... and the ukelele/banjo.
So i searched youtube for some of the tracks, and slapped together a few mixes for my wife who wondered why i even got these... Once I get the steel needles for the phonograph, Ill be listening to all them... so, more mixes to come..
I am so glad I inherited these 230g slabs for free, in this tiny lil mill town, no less...
